WHAT IS MASSAGE?
Massage is the general term given to describe a discipline aimed at meeting the needs and goals of the individual client using a therapeutic approach to soft tissue manipulation. Techniques employed can range from superficial to deep tissue massage, stretching, dermal lifting, vibrations and compressions.
WHO CAN BENEFIT?
Anyone of any age and gender, whether a participant of sport and exercise or not.*
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?
The physical and psychological benefits to massage are broad, some common benefits include; relaxation, increased flexibility and mobility, reduced muscular tension, relief for tired and aching muscles, improved circulation, optimised healing and recovery time after injury / surgery, improved sporting performance, improved posture.
Aleksandra qualified as a Physiotherapist in Poland where hands on therapies are routinely used and massage is a core practice. Therefore, whilst currently completing her MSc. in Physiotherapy at Cardiff University, Aleksandra works as a therapeutic massage practitioner, employing the use of stretching, massage and general self-care advice to assist her clients. Massage techniques are adapted to be suitable for people of all ages and needs*.
